Burty writes a humorous letter to Ernest Chesneau (1864) expressing his contempt for a recent article by Beule. It includes references to a number of critics and journals. In a letter to the editor Launette (1885), Burty offers his opinion of the book "Les Quatre Fils Aymon" with illustrations by Grasset engraved by Charles Gillot.
